What the ThrivingCores Well Child Service looks like in the COVID Protection Framework (Traffic light)
Alert level Red, Phase 3
Core checks will be completed in parts:

Virtual consultations will be carried out first followed by a face to face appointment to complete a physical assessment in the clinic or at home.

Clinic and home visit appointment times will be reduced to 15 minutes, mainly for the physical assessment.

A COVID-19 screening text or phone call will be made prior to any face to face appointment to ensure safety between staff, clients and their families.

Appointments will be rescheduled if there is no response or you reply “Yes” to any of the COVID screening questions.

If you require support during COVID home isolation, please contact 0800 747 213.
We are here to help you so please let us know if you need support with breastfeeding, accessing a Safe sleep device (Pepi-pod or Wahakura), or scheduled childhood immunisations.
We apologise if we have not been in contact with you during these difficult and very busy times. Please feel free to contact us to book an appointment for your child. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

When you're expecting your baby it's important that you start thinking about joining up with a Well Child Tamariki Ora service as soon as your baby is born. Our ThrivingCores Well Child Service can start seeing your baby when your midwife finishes visiting you.
Our aim is to support parents and families to ensure that your child achieves a strong foundation of health from birth to 5 years or age.
We offer all 8 Core Checks as outlined in your Well Child book (see below), in line with the Ministry of Health Well Child Tamariki Ora Framework and Schedule.
Our Unique Services
On top of the Core Checks, by Registering with our ThrivingCores Well Child service we can offer you many other benefits:

Conduct the core check in our clinic or at your home, whichever you prefer

Arrange your transportation to the clinic if that helps

Arrange after-hours appointments if that is preferrable

Offer free additional visits if required

Consider other social service support you may require

During your pregnancy we can also offer educational support, working alongside your midwife
For babies between 0-12 months registered with us, we can also offer:

Lolohea is a registered nurse who combines her health care training with practical, gentle support and encouragement in working with our Pacific people. Information and advice is provided in a culturally sensitive and meaningful way, which is then accepted and valued.

Well Child Tamariki Ora nurses are experts in child health and growth. Your nurse will support you to protect and improve your child’s health. Your midwife will give you a free Well Child Tamariki Ora My Health Book. The My Health Book reminds you about all the things that you can do to keep your child healthy and safe.
Each visit will cover different areas.
The first Well Child Tamariki Ora visit
